Lower Brushy Creek WCID Directors are scheduled to hold a public hearing 7:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the conference room of the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce regarding the proposed budget for the 2025 fiscal year, along with the tax rate that supports it. Directors will also hold its regular September meeting at this time.

According to the Williamson Central Appraisal District, the Certified Taxable Assessed Valuation (AV) of the property within then WCID shows an increase from $5.127 to $6.054 billion, which is an 18% increase. The WilCo CAD has also calculated the maximum tax rate the WCID can approve. It shows a slight increase from 1.6265 to 1.6546 cents per $100 AV, a 2% increase.

That rate is expected to generate approximately $1 million. Through a transfer of a general fund surplus of $500,000, along with a few minor grants, the district has proposed a $1.65 million budget for FY 2025. The proposed budget will support approximately $1 million in dam maintenance, repairs, rehabilitation and upgrades, $250,000 in engineering services, and an administrative budget of about $300,000.
