Two members of the Lower Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District were recently sworn in to serve new four-year terms.

Williamson County Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 administered the oath of office to Ed Komandosky and Monica Masters during the June director’s meeting.
Komandosky has served on the WCID board for 20 years, the last six as president. He and his wife, Susan, have been active with civic and church activities for the last 30 plus years. He currently chairs four local boards and serves on six others.
Masters is the Vice President of Water Resources for the Lower Colorado River Authority and has been with the organization since 1997. She is holds a degree from Texas A&M in Agricultural Engineering. Her husband, Ricky, is an electrical contractor and they have two girls in Thrall schools, each involved in sports. She also serves on the Executive Committee for the Austin Rodeo.
Both will serve until 2028.
The Lower Brushy Creek WCID operates and maintains 23 flood control structures in eastern Williamson and western Milam Counties. These earthen dams were designed and constructed by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
The Lower Brushy Creek WCID Directors usually meet in the Conference Room of the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce at 7:30 a.m. the third Monday of every month. All meetings are open to the public.
